Kate Lee Communications was created nearly twenty years ago and is now well established as an expert training provider specialising in voice, presentation and influential communication.
Originally a professional actor, Kate was a pioneer of applying professional performer skills into the world of business training and voice coaching for broadcasters.
Our work in business focuses around the behaviours of influence: voice communication; managing audiences; presentation skills and personal impact – for influential leadership, management, customer services, sales and business relationships.
Our philosophy is about enabling people to ‘be even more themselves’. To make the most of themselves. Our skill is in helping people with the ‘how to’. How to unleash their real voice and communication potential. How to make behavioural changes and how to put them into practice. How to become excellent communicators.
We offer group training, workshops and one-to-one coaching and our communication programmes work well supporting internal and external leadership development programmes. We often work in association with other consultancies as a ‘niche’ specialist. Over the years we are proud to have worked with some outstanding organisations and inspirational people.
Kate offers a unique skill set for coaching broadcasters – a media practitioner, voice expert and skilled coach – and is now well established throughout the UK broadcast industry. She has worked with hundreds of broadcasters over the years, including LBC, BBC radio & TV stations, ITV, ITN, Channel 4 News, Capital Radio, Talksport, Heart fm plus dozens of independent stations.
We understand the constraints and pressures of working to broadcasting deadlines and have developed a flexible, effective coaching style. Far from trying to change people or make everyone sound the same, our voice coaching helps broadcasters find their own natural, distinctive delivery.
Kate got the taste for coaching after being invited to train business people in the dark art of media presentation. The significant changes she saw in people and the renewed confidence it gave them excited her to switch careers, create her own business and set about learning how to join up the skills of the professional performer with the latest ideas in business learning and development.
Previously, Kate trained as an actor at the National Youth Theatre and New College of Speech & Drama, London where she studied voice with Greta Coulson and won awards for Best Performer and Best Student Director. After this she enjoyed a twenty year career in theatre, television and radio. As well as appearing in theatres nationwide, including the National Theatre, she has appeared in dramas and soaps for ITV and BBC TV from the Wednesday Play to Coronation St. Kate was also a familiar voice on BBC Radio 4 for many years and was a prolific voice-over artist for commercials, film animation & narration and audio books.
