They are some of the most persuasive
people in the world. They are in the talking business. They are big
business.
How do they do it?
Excellent communicators engage the attention of their audience and use
superb rapport skills. They appear to be relaxed, confident and at ease with
themselves. They are skilled at knowing what will please their audience. This
is all displayed in the way they use their voice, body language, spoken
delivery and personality.
Skills we can all learn and apply to our own
business.
Suggestion: Choose a role
model - someone you admire as a good talker / communicator. Identify three
characteristics of their self-presentation that you think go towards making
them communicate well. Consider your own talking and presenting skills. Would
you benefit from displaying these characteristics? If so, choose an appropriate
meeting/presentation/ conversation to consciously focus on ONE of these
characteristics. For instance, you may choose enthusiasm. Listen to your voice,
be aware of your facial expression, your energy level, the way your sit, stand
or move. Don't be afraid to try out new 'behaviour'. Observe the response you
get from others and adjust your new skills accordingly.
We can work with you, in a safe
environment, to develop these skills and learn how to apply them.
"An excellent worthwhile day. I didn't
recognise myself second time round."
